St. Augustine Catholic Church
Brighton, Colorado
A new 31" x 31" angel stained glass window for St. Augustine Catholic Church
During July 2010, Conrad Schmitt Studios, Inc. designed and created four new, traditional-styled stained glass transom windows and two octagon angel windows for Adoration Chapel of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Brighton, CO. The aesthetics of these traditional windows take design cues from a 1916 Emil Frei stained glass window. The two upper windows depict angels in a blazing glory of light surrounded by Colorado's state flower, the columbine. Vibrant in color, the Adoration Chapel angels impart peace. The rolling hills of Colorado provide contrast to each of the four Saint windows. A range of deep red background colors symbolize holy zeal and the Church. CSS artists employed centuries old glass techniques combined with modern etching methods to craft a collection of spirited stained glass windows for the Brighton community.
