Challenge

To design and fabricate a new stained glass window to enhance the worship space of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

Solution

A geometric, rose window was chosen–a type that has been treasured for its mystical nature for more than a thousand years. The circular form and visual rhythm are believed to be a vehicle for transcendence.

The contemporary interpretation by CSS also uses dichroic glass and gold leaf on the exterior lead lines to allow the design to be viewed from the exterior, as well as the interior.
