For the University of Michigan’s, Ross School of Business in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Conrad Schmitt Studios decoratively gilded elevator lobby ceiling panels on three floors of the building and the ceiling of the room called the “Dean’s Suite.” Approximately 850 sqaure feet of ceiling was gilded with a composition aluminum leaf applied with a technique known as Schaibin gilding, creating an organic, “broken leaf” effect.
