All Souls Catholic Church

Englewood, Colorado

Our team at Conrad Schmitt Studios, Inc. completed new liturgical decoration and stained glass windows at All Souls Catholic Church in Englewood, Colorado. Custom stenciling throughout the sanctuary and ceiling, nine new stained glass windows depicting significant biblical moments, and a redesigned flooring and sanctuary layout have transformed the church and brought new life to this sacred space.

COLOR PALETTE

New stained glass and decorating helped elevate the interior and provide deeper liturgical engagement with the church building. Light tan and warm gray colors highlight the architecture, while accents of blue and red throughout the church complement the warm tones.

NAVE CEILING

The nave ceiling is decorated with borders that depict blooming lilies with fleur de lis at the corners. Lilies and their refined symbol of the fleur de lis represent the Holy Trinity of God the Father, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ. The lily is also a symbol of purity for both St. Joseph and Mary, the Mother of God.

SANCTUARY WALL

Behind the crucifix is a beautiful blue backdrop designed by Integration Design Group to resemble book-matched marble, though it is porcelain. Selecting porcelain to mimic the appearance of marble provides a more cost-effective solution while still achieving the elegant veining and visual depth of natural stone. The deep blue and dramatic marbling enhance the space and naturally draw the eye toward the crucifix as the focal point.

STAINED GLASS

Nine new stained-glass windows in the nave each depict a different biblical narrative honoring the souls in Purgatory who reached salvation through Christ. Those narratives include the Paralytic in the Temple, Assumption of Mary, Raising of Lazarus, Mary Magdeline Repents, when Rahab Saves Joshua, The Bronze Serpent, David’s Repentance, the Presentation in the Temple, and Christ stepping on the Serpent. Uniting the collection of windows are symbolic floral borders featuring magnolias for enduring faith and beauty, lilies for purity, and dogwood flowers representing the crucifixion, details that bring deeper meaning and connection to the sacred space.

This project transformed All Souls Catholic Church into a meaningful place of worship through a newly envisioned liturgical design that blends timeless artistry with thoughtful contemporary elements. From the custom decorative finishes and symbolic stained glass narratives to the carefully selected materials and reimagined sanctuary layout, each detail was designed to enrich the worship experience. We were honored to collaborate on this project alongside Integration Design Group, Horizon West Builders, and Sauder Worship Seating.
